Assessments - Parents
ADV assessments excel children's dance skills in a safe and positive learning environment.
ADV offers a unique and friendly assessment programme for jazz, tap and classical. The programme is designed to create a safe environment for students to perform at their most optimum levels. Students have a choice between receiving a report with or without a graded mark. The system is built on meeting specific learning outcomes and assessment criteria. The programme has proved to build self esteem and confidence in students and there is no 'fail' in the ADV assessment programme. All curriculum in all levels integrate learning elements for "life skills" and nutrition.

ADV's assessment programme is Australian-owned which means all funds remain in Australia. In light of eating disorders and other mental illnesses that are unfortunately ubiquitous to the dance industry, the programme aims to foster and nurture children's development as whole persons, not merely dancing bodies. The curriculum covers a wide range of dance subjects including not only technique but also anatomy, nutrition, history, performance skills, creative dance, mime and improvisation, music appreciation and industry knowledge. Students become articulate and skilled pre-professionals.
The syllabus is further endorsed by ADi, a registered training organistaion that delivers vocational qualifications in dance training and dance teaching. This means that grades can count towards professional qualifications which in turn can articulate into higher education.
