Learning Strategies

The learning strategies are designed to provide competencies for dance education and a basis for assessment. They provide a framework for teaching, learning a movement vocabulary within which teachers may create original work.
ADV-ADi has introduced the concept of competencies, learning outcomes and assessment criteria into the current modules to align adap with the Australian Quality Training Framework and terminology. each curriculum contains an age based progression from one level (competency) to the next allowing for both physical and mental development from beginers to pre professional levels paced to suit the formative years of a young dancers physical development. Each strategy includes:

- Safe Dance
- Technical Skills and Knowledge
- Solo Performance
- Creative Components
- Musical Knowledge
- Dance History
- Basic Body Science
- Dance Terms & Vocabulary
- Understanding of body alignment and stage directions and terminology

- Attitude component including cooperative learning processes
- Good preparation for educational school dance (see VET in Schools)
- Communication sessions on career options in dance
