Recognition of certificates in high school curriculum.

What is VET?



Vocational Education & Training. ADi accredited Courses  now recognised in selected  state high school systems. This is a new trend and varies between states as new approvals are determined. Check with ADV and your local school for latest information.


VET in Schools



New South Wales - ADi dance qualifications can now be recognised as part of the HSC. Specifically Certificate II in Dance Performance Studies 91250NSW studied over years 11 & 12 in NSW will be a 2 or 4 unit category b subject. (i.e. not counted towards a UAI).

Queensland - The Queensland government recognises accredited courses Certificates I-IV in Dance Performance Studies and Certificate IV in Dance Teaching & Management as being counted towards high school students OP.

Other states - this is under review by each state education department in conjunction with Vocational Training directions set by the Federal Governmen.

What to Look for!!



Making sure you receive the best training!

Before you start any training program find out the following:

  • Is the training provider a Registered Training Organisation (RTO)?
  • Will the qualification you get be recognised all over Australia?


Look out for this logo, the Nationally Recognised Training logo, ANTA



Applications need to be made to the Board of studies regarding VET in Schools. If you are interested make sure the dance teacher is currently ADi Certified and that you have support from your school Principal. Then contact the office directly on 9449 4212
